The Magic Tower
by Tennessee Williams

In 1930s New York, Linda has left her job as a Vaudeville actress to marry Jim, a young struggling painter. She thinks herself blissfully happy, living in poverty, in their tiny, run down, studio apartment (their “magic tower”) but visits from their caustic landlady and two former colleagues push Linda towards re-evaluating her situation. When Jim returns home disconsolate after failing to sell any paintings to a dealer, Linda faces a stark dilemma about her future.

Me & My Friend (Acts 1 & 2)
by Gillian Plowman

Originally performed as a three-act play, the first two acts are also free-standing plays in their own right.

Me and My Friend is a black comedy exploring the relationships within two “odd” couples thrown prematurely out of hospital care. In Act 1 Oz and Bunny conduct fantasy interviews for jobs they will never get. In Act 2 Julia and Robin are trying to “make plans” as urged to by the hospital. Me and My Friend is a funny, moving and heartbreaking look at mental health issues set against the Care in the Community initiative of the late 1980’s.
